Eileen Smith, MD is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon as well as a board-certified general surgeon. She completed an endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a national leader in the surgical treatment of endocrine disease and one of the country’s highest volume endocrine surgery programs. There she received dedicated training in surgery of the parathyroid, thyroid, and adrenal glands. This built upon her prior clinical training as a general surgery resident at Washington University in Saint Louis, where she gained extensive experience in both endocrine surgery as well as minimally invasive and robotic general surgery. As part of her practice, Dr. Smith routinely utilizes advanced techniques in endocrine surgery to deliver the highest level of care to her patients including surgeon performed ultrasound, intra-operative parathyroid hormone sampling, and nerve monitoring. She cares for patients with both benign and malignant endocrine disease including hyperparathyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, Graves’ disease, and adrenal tumors.
