This Sesame Ginger Dressing recipe adds Asian flavor using toasted sesame oil and soy sauce. It goes well on a mixed greens salad or on a slaw with ingredients like shredded carrots and cabbage, cooked edamame, sesame seeds, and cilantro.

Makes ½ cup

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil (or substitute another neutral oil)
  • 2 Tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (or substitute agave, honey, maple syrup)
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely minced
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • ½ teaspoon salt, adjust to taste

Directions:

  1. Prepare the garlic and ginger.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a jar; put on the lid and shake well.
  3. Let dressing sit for an hour to allow flavors to marry.
  4. Refrigerate for up to seven days; allow to come to room temperature and shake before use.
