Program Criteria

Thank you for your interest in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Trinity Health Livonia. We are excited about embarking on this new journey with you. Recruitment for the Psychiatry Residency Program takes place from October through January. Applications will be accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). If extended, an invitation to interview will be communicated through email. Our program participates in the NRMP Main Match.

Applicant Requirements

  1. Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 before the interview.
  2. Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 2 CK or COMLEX Level 2 before the interview.
  3. Applicants must have passed all USMLE or COMLEX exams on their first attempt.
  4. Completed application with all corresponding materials submitted to ERAS
  5. Three letters of reference from, one letter must be from someone within the specialty.
  6. Applicants should have graduated from medical school within the three years prior to the anticipated program start date and have relevant U.S. clinical experience within that time period
  7. Applicant must qualify for a full or unrestricted educational limited license in the State of Michigan
  8. International Medical Graduates must be certified by ECFMG
  9. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required

Application Status Updates

The Psychiatry Program will not be giving status updates by phone, email or walk-ins.  We will only be contracting applicants whom we invite for an interview.
